The company from Scandiano and leader in end-of-line technologies for the production of ceramic tiles, faces the difficult economic times with double-figure results and without resorting to social security systems to cushion financial shocks.
One of the feathers in the cap of Italian plant engineering for the production of ceramic tiles, BMR, a leading company in end-of-line technologies for the production of ceramic tiles, emerges successfully even in times of global crisis. With deep roots in the Italian tile manufacturing district, from which 45% of its turnover derives, the company directed by Paolo Sassi drew the balance of 2010 with a turnover of more than 20 million Euro, registering a growth of 8,7% as opposed to 2009. This trend seems to be confirmed also in 2011: the first 4 months recorded a rise of 45% in turnover. BMR boasts major Italian and international reference customers, especially on the marketplaces of Russia, Brazil and the Far East of Asia. This last area, which before now was taken completely by Chinese competitors, is growing strongly, which further proves the technological primacy of BMR.
“We are truly pleased with these results, which reward and confirm the efforts made by our team so far – Paolo Sassi commented, chairman and majority shareholder of BMR – We faced the undeniable difficulties of the crisis with cautious farsightedness, without ever losing sight of our added value: a completely made-in-Italy technology. This has enabled us to keep our consolidated market shares but also to acquire new ones. Our machinery effectively meets the various needs of the market; in Europe, lapped tiles are the preference, whilst abroad and in the Far East, customers prefer the honed finish. There is also a very modest come back from Spain and this makes us even more hopeful”.
BMR has been supplying complete gauging-honing-squaring lines for over 40 years, as well as an extensive range of polishing, silk-finishing and lapping heads for technical porcelain and glazed tiles, plus other machinery for processing fired tiles. It employs roughly 65 staff members who are distributed between the commercial, administrative and production facilities in (RE) and the factory in Schio (VI) where the polishing machines are made.
