COVERINGS 2022: THE BMR FINISHING TECHNOLOGY

15 March 2022 | News

The countdown has begun for the new edition of Coverings 2022, the North American reference fair for the entire natural stone and ceramic supply chain. In fact, from April 5 to 8, the Las Vegas Convention Center (Nevada – USA) will once again open its doors to producers and visitors who have always experienced this event as one of the main times for comparison and updating on technological and product trends in the sector.

BMR looks forward to the trip with the awareness and enthusiasm generated after two years of absence caused by the pandemic emergency and flies to Las Vegas to support the value of made in Italy technology, representing specifically the excellence of the finishing process.

The years of distancing have further strengthened and corroborated the need to join the 4.0 industrial revolution, accelerating on increasingly automated and digitized solutions. BMR has fully responded to this requirement by developing its technologies along these lines and elevating its process lines with innovations that closely embrace lean production from a smart factory perspective.

Among the most important innovations, the Squadra Dry Vision takes on a leading role due to the evolution of its system and the highly innovative input it gives to the entire ceramic end-of-line.

Designed to ensure high performance, with considerable benefits in terms of energy saving and respect for the environment, the new Squadra Dry Vision is a dry technology squaring machine fitted with vision controls integrated with the squaring logic present at the line’s input and output, and with the inclusion of single inverters for calibrating motors, a solution that guarantees energy, consumption and tool cost savings. The system cuts in downstream of each processing module, accurately controlling numerous parameters, guaranteeing a higher percentage of first choice production and a consequent reduction in labour and process costs, in full respect of the environment and eco-sustainability standards. Each machine module is governed by a PC that controls the drive motorization and the centring and squaring devices independently. Furthermore, the production parameters are kept under control by a single terminal that regularly records and saves all the data: this is an important dialogue capability of the machine and a significant digitization system that allows a more streamlined management even remotely, thus optimizing the processing and the entire process in terms of costs and consumption.

Squadra Dry Vision is therefore confirmed as an extremely advanced solution in terms of technology and versatility, since it adapts to the production needs of companies and interacts in a functional way with the existing lines.

Its success is confirmed by the numerous installations carried out internationally and therefore also in the USA: here the presence of BMR USA adds value with an established logistics centre with a high strategic value, which brought BMR to Crossville, Tennessee, in the heart of the American ceramic valley.

The US branch of BMR has a wide range of spare parts that allows supplies and requests for technical assistance to be handled even more quickly and efficiently. The recent completion of the workshop for the regeneration of squaring and, recently, also of lapping spindles, also makes it possible to increase the offer of services for the companies in the district, many of them Italian, which until now were made prohibitive by transport costs to and from Italy.

Therefore, the value of BMR’s American headquarters is perceived as a real plus that further consolidates the link between the Scandiano company and the most important ceramic companies in the USA.

BMR is meeting customers and visitors from April 5 to 8 at Coverings 2022, at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Nevada – USA.
